"This episode follows investigators as they examine the crimes of serial killer Richard Ramirez. In the early eighties he struck both old and young, though the brutality he showed towards his female victims was especially horrific. He became known as the Night Stalker because he would only strike during the midnight hours, entering homes through open windows or doors and escaping of California's freeways. During the summer heat wave of 1985, Los Angeles residents kept their windows locked and lived in fear until his killing spree finally ended. On August 30, 1985, months after his first known murders, he was finally apprehended. Convicted of 14 murders in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas, Ramirez still haunts the memories of those who lived through his reign of terror."
