"What is gender? Where do gender and biology meet? And do they have to meet at all?

Enough Man is part of the boom in films addressing transgender issues, breaking new ground as it explores the lives and loves of nine female to male (FTM) transsexuals. Through candid and sometimes explicit interviews and demonstrations, these nine men share their experiences about how they fit, or don’t fit, into the wider world.

Beginning with discussions of self-identification and self-acceptance, each conversation reveals the struggles these men encounter with body image, public perception, and the politics of being themselves. Reclaiming and reshaping such terms as exhibitionist, pervert, and fag, this diverse group of men finds some of the political and emotional power necessary for them to navigate the world on their own terms.

Natalie, a female sex worker and dominatrix, and Casey, FTM and a self-identified slut, share a poly-amorous relationship that includes bondage, domination, and making their own porn. Their willingness to deconstruct their expected roles brings a new level of insight into the possibilities of love and sexual pleasure.

Choosing to live in a rural area, Joshua and Raven demonstrate how they have created their own haven for their unusual family. Other interviewees from a range of backgrounds add to this rich discussion of monogamy, polygamy, power dynamics, casual sex, and the ups and downs of surgical options.

Director Luke Woodward finds sex and sexuality integral to embracing each of his subjects as whole human beings. Knowing that the end result would break new ground and some serious film taboos, Woodward used his interviews and interactions to work through the initial stages of his own transitioning just before his senior year at Brown University."
